Advent’s lovely candle of peace now shines with the candles of hope, love and joy. PEACE. Have you lost this precious gift? Pause your rushed pace. Be still and know that God is God (Psalm 46:10). Jesus gives you a peace that differs from the world’s peace. He encourages your heart to not be anxious or afraid (John 14:27). He said “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” (John 20:21). Peace is found through being still with God, filling your heart with God’s peace and sharing that peace with others. “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces peace, who brings good news, who announces salvation” (Isaiah 52:7).
Prayer: Father God, still my rushed life to know you better. Calm my troubled heart to receive your peace. Lead me to share this peace and your good news. Amen.
