For Lutherans, worship stands at the center of our life of faith. It connects us through God’s word and prayer, unites us in celebration and helps us grow in our faith. Each week we worship with historical Lutheran traditions that are relevant to today's world.
Worship with your kids each weekend as we sing, worship, pray, and hear a message from God's Word.
Communion is celebrated at each service with few exceptions. ALL who believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior are welcome to come to the Lord's Supper. It is in the bread and wine we find God's forgiveness, so we come to the table recognizing our shortcomings and leave the table fully forgiven.
Communion for children: Preparing for one's first communion is an exciting milestone in the life of a young person. At a First Communion retreat, students work with the pastor, using a Lutheran curriculum, "Fed and Forgiven". Traditionally, children who attend this retreat are 5th graders but younger or older children are welcome. Please speak with the pastor for details.
Baptism is NOT water only but water used together with God's word and by His command. Baptism is a gift that God wants to freely give and is one of the great joys of a worshipping community. We celebrate this gift in daily remembrance of our baptism when we recall that through daily repentance and forgiveness we are free to live abundantly in Christ.
If you desire to be baptized or have your child baptized, please contact the Pastor or church office.
The purpose of new membership classes is to introduce prospective members to Joy Lutheran Church. Whether you are a long time Lutheran or new to the Lutheran tradition, we review what it means to be Lutheran. We also learn about the many ministries we have at Joy and the opportunities you have to show the Love of Christ not only within our walls but in the community, state and world.
Classes are offered 3 times a year, so watch the ENews and announcements for dates and times.
We are church family welcoming your family to be part of Joy!
Joy Lutheran Church is a member of the Rocky Mountain Synod of the ELCA. We work together with the ELCA in many programs that help show God's love to people here in Colorado and around the world.
ELCA - "We are the church that shares a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person--questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world."
