Have you ever felt that you didn’t have enough faith? The disciples asked Jesus to increase their faith. He responded, “If you had the faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you” (Luke 17). Another time Jesus told them that with faith the size of a mustard seed, they could move a mountain (Matthew 17). According to Wikipedia, mustard seeds are usually about 0.039 to 0.079 inches in diameter. That seems like an extremely tiny amount of faith! God probably doesn’t expect us to tell trees and mountains to move, but He does provide us with a blessed opportunity to grow in our faith through hearing the Word of Christ (Romans 10:17). Praying, church worship services, Bible studies and encouragement from other Christians also nourishes our faith. Although our faith may be small, with God all things are possible! (Matthew 19:26 and Mark 10:27)
