The next Purely Social event will be on Thursday, September 26th, when we visit the Mother Cabrini Shrine. There is a beautiful monument of Christ, visible off the north side of I-70 near Morrison, and several gardens and historic buildings on the site. We'll meet at JOY to carpool, spend a couple of hours at the shrine, have lunch on site ($10 for a home-cooked meal), and return early afternoon. There are gardens, a grotto, a chapel, a museum and a gift shop that are easily accessible. For those willing and able, there are 373 steps leading up to the top of the Mount of the Sacred Heart, where the statue is. Learn more about Mother Cabrini HERE.
