The Honor Bell Foundation is calling for artifacts to be included in the casting of Honor Bell #2, which will serve the Pikes Peak region. This continues the Foundation’s mission to honor deceased military Veterans with the tolling of a ceremonial bell during funeral services. During its creation, artifacts from twelve deceased Colorado service members—ranging from World War II to the Global War on Terror—were incorporated into the molten bronze, making their legacy an enduring part of the bell.
With the upcoming casting of Honor Bell #2, the community is invited to submit nominations for military artifacts to be embedded in the bell. Artifacts, such as military medals, badges, unit insignia, and commemorative coins, will symbolize the service and sacrifice of Veterans across all military branches and eras.
Submission Criteria:
The following criteria must be met:
• The Veteran must be deceased.
• The Veteran must have served or lived in Colorado.
• The Veteran must have been honorably discharged (DD214 may be requested for verification).
• All military service branches, ranks, and eras are eligible.
