Dotty was born in New Mexico and graduated from UNM in Education and Communication Arts. She earned her Master’s from CU Denver in Counseling and Personnel Services, and taught English and was a Counselor in Jefferson County Schools for 30 years. Dotty and her husband, Gary, have been members of Joy since moving to Parker in 2019. She enjoys “glamping” in their travel trailer, writing novels, reading, and all kinds of crafting. They have a grown son and daughter who live in the Denver area, and three grandchildren. They enjoy their rescue dog (Muttsi--breed unknown) and are Rockies, Broncos and Nuggets fans. Dotty says they felt at home the very first time they attended Joy, and she is blessed to share her love of God, caregiving and leadership skills with Joy’s community.
